The first edition of the Kunstuni International Universities Seminar, organized by International Office at the Art and Design University of Linz and Kunstuni Campus Exhibition during Ars Electronica Festival, will take place on September 10th.

The Expanded Conference (Expanded 2026) will take place from September 9th to 11th as part of the Ars Electronica Festival 2026. This call for papers focuses on academic papers in the field of Expanded Animation and Interactive Art that explore and experiment with media expression at the intersection of art, technology, and society. We will have four categories (Research Paper, Art Paper, Doctoral Consortium, Play Gallery), where submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process.

All selected speakers will be given a free pass to the Ars Electronica Festival (September 9th to 13th).

  • Hauptplatz location | take streetcar line 1, 2, 3 or 4 or bus line 19 to Hauptplatz and the buses of the Upper Austrian Transport Association to the Untere Donaulände stop.
  • Domgasse location | take streetcar line 1, 2, 3 or 4 to the Taubenmarkt or Hauptplatz stop (from there it is about 5 to 7 minutes on foot).

By bike

  • All locations are also easy to reach on your own or with a rental bike. There are public bike racks on the roads around the university as well as dedicated bike racks in the courtyards. You can get an overview of how to get there using the Radlobby Linz online cycle map.
  • You can also switch to the local bike rental system at the train station. In Linz there are the Citybikes powered by next bike - you can rent them via app. You can reach all our locations from the main train station with a Citybike, the pick-up and return stations are in the immediate vicinity.   • Location Hauptplatz/Domgasse | from Passau via the Innkreisautobahn A8 (E66), from Prague/Freistadt via the Mühlkreisautobahn E55/A, from Vienna via the Westautobahn A1 (E60), from Salzburg via the Westautobahn A1 (E55) - in each case exit Hafenstrasse (Exit 11)
